After graduating from senior high school, Cindy had a plan to continue her study in her own town. She thought that her parents’ financial wouldn’t be enough to finance her study in a big university. But, behind of that condition, she had a big dream for her future.
In her long vacation, she just stayed at home, nothing to do. Sometimes she visited her friends to gamble. And this August 2008, Cindy and friends have been preparing for an event of 63rd of Indonesia Independence Anniversary in their housing.
“ Hmm… Okay guys… now we are going to form a committee structure for preparing this event.” The leader said. He is Setya who led them to pioneer the first youth in their housing.
“Ya… I think it’s better if we elect by vote. And the candidates are all of us.” Cindy adds.
“Okay… let’s do it!” Setya nods. Then the vote was beginning…
After several times, that votes was counted. And finally, they appointed Gio as a chairman of the committee. Then they started to make the first plan …
Yaa… the togetherness returned be felt, since they were in junior high school, they haven’t got together anymore for years.
In the middle of their togetherness, Cindy remembered something. The past story that had ever made her flowering, but it was hurt. Yudha , a boy who lived near of her house, her neighbor. the first guy who could make Cindy felt in love about two years ago. But she still remembered.
When they were kids, they seldom met and played together. Not too close. When they were in senior high school, it was the beginning. Short Message Service… that made them be closer. They often shared everything… till he gave Cindy a care… but at that time, she had not realized it yet. She still considered him as her friend.
Yudha often sent her romantic poems via SMS that made her heart was touched. Then Cindy began to open her heart for Yudha gradually. She was hopeful to him. But, without an apparent reason, Yudha was little bit different than before. It was strange. Whereas Yudha had promised that he would prove his love. When Cindy tried to love him, on the contrary he kept away from her. Cindy already loved him and she would try to get his heart. Then she tried to ask his statement. Why he was changed and where was his promise?
“Yudha, do you forget to your promise that you’ve said to prove your feeling about me at that time? “
He just kept silent and he didn’t know what sould he say. He was nervous, his heart was beating and held her hand and stared at her but he couldn’t say anything, just silent. Only Cindy, who spoke and told her heart anxiety…
“Wait me next Saturday… I’ll explain it all…” Yudha encouraged himself to speak.
“Okay, I’ll wait your explanation.” Cindy commented his statement.
She had ever thought a doubtful feeling in her heart. And when the day was coming, he didn’t come whole Saturday. She tried to contact him, but it was no answer. Then on Sunday morning, he replied and explained all. He said that they couldn’t be together and made a relationship, because he thought that he wasn’t a good boy for a good girl like Cindy. Cindy tried to accept the real fact that they just could be best friends, not more.
That memory was often seemingly appeared when they were together. But she tried to forget it and considered that it had been passed. Furthermore, Yudha had a girl friend that they lived for two years. And by the same token by Cindy, she has had a boy friend although they’ve just less then a month. But Cindy was so bored with her boy. And during she and her friends was busy to prepare the event, she was never contact her long distance boy anymore. That was maybe she more comfort with her friends then him. Moreover there was Yudha, though she always refused her feeling, but she couldn’t deceive her heart.
She felt the vibration of love that was return in her heart slowly. The feeling that had ever stayed though it was unclear, but she thought that was the most thrilling feeling she has ever felt in her heart.
But she was sad, cause Yudha would go to Semarang soon, to continue his study there and stayed with her father. She felt, she couldn’t forget his represented in her heart. Though she knew, both of them have had lovers. But she wasn’t doubt for her love to Yudha.
The highlight was successful. They received a positive response from the people, with the establishment regeneration organization in this housing. Then they celebrated it in Yudha’s house. But, it wasn’t like as Cindy felt. If this event was ended, it meant that he had to go soon. She was moved to retell what she felt during they were together.
The farewell day was coming. It was the most hateful day for her, cause she had to be separated with the boy that has ever she loved. Cindy had an aim to follow to see off him to the train station with her friends at 09 P.M . Her heart was beating, she was nervous and confused how to say it. And when the opportunity was coming …
“Yudha, I wanna say something to you…”
“Ya… what do you wanna say Cindy?”
She told to him slowly. Yudha listen to her and smiled. Then he commented what she had said.
“Well, maybe it’s happened because… we were together again, and I can understand what you feel.”
Actually, Cindy didn’t mean that she wanted him to be her boy. But an unexpected thing was Cindy broke up his boy in the same day and before she told it to Yudha. She couldn’t deceive his heart.
“Take care yourself well. Don’t forget us here. Always keep contact.”
“Of course… I won’t forget you all… you are my unforgettable childhood friends. And we will always keep contact…”
Finally, the train picked him to go…relief and quietly … and it was the last time they met. Cindy was willing to leave her boy, for Yudha, though they couldn’t be together.
